Click New on the toolbar (or use File - New - Composer Page).
Notice that browser icon changes from circled N of Navigator to Composer's sheet of paper both on toolbar and at top of window.

Type first and last name - hit
Enter
two times.

Type your street address.
(Make it short so it doesn't
"wrap.") Hit Enter
one time to create line break.

Type your city, state and zip code.
Hit Enter
two times to create paragraph.

Type entry about yourself. Make it long enough to "wrap"
lines.
Hit Enter

Let's use some features on the Formatting
toolbar, from left to right.

Highlight your name

Click the arrow
next to the Body Text box.
From the drop-down menu, choose Heading 1.

Click the color
box and choose a bright color.

At far right, are the alignment buttons; click on center.
- Highlight your address.
- This time click the
A with the up arrow.
- Click B for Bold.

Click I for Italics.
- Click the center alignment button.

Click below your typing to remove
highlighting.
Next try one of these features
on the Formatting toolbar:
Bulleted
List

Find bullet list button;
click it.
Bullet appears.

Type text and hit enter. Another
bullet appears.

Continue list, hitting Enter after
each entry.
When finished, hit enter;
click bullet list button to clear.

Numbered
List

Find number list button;
click it.
Number sign appears.

Type text and hit enter. Another
number sign appears.

Continue list, hitting Enter after

click number list button to clear.

The default is for text to spread across entire
browser window.
This is very hard to read.
Create a margin for page with
Blockquote
feature,
on Formatting toolbar:

Highlight all sentence text to have margin.
-
Click button with arrow
pointing toward lines.
Highlighted text indents from
both sides of window.
Click again to indent more.

Arrow pointing away from
lines moves text back out to sides of window.
-
Click anywhere on page to remove
highlighting.
Time to save what we've done.
Filename (the .html name) is different than Page
Title.
Do
NOT use spaces
for
webpage File names.
Browsers cannot read filenames
with spaces.
If you must separate words,
use the underscore _.
Webpages
must have .htm or .html extension.
Netscape's default
is .html if you don't type extension.
Earlier we changed
color of our name, but we can change the default colors for the entire page with Page
