Network Engineer – Bank of America (Contractor for Network Services Now) Dallas, TX 2000-2001

  • Assembled server components according to specifications outlined for controllers, hard drives, RAM, NIC’s, processors, modems, etc. Confirmed server component functionality and configuration.
  • Proficient using Compaq Smart Start server setup utility for firmware upgrades and drive array configurations RAID 1, 5, 0+1.
  • Installed Windows 2000 Server, Professional, NT 4.0 Server, Workstation, via automated build process.
  • Installed and configured additional software depending on server type. (domain controllers, file and print, SMS servers, SQL server, bridgehead servers, etc.
  • Configured IP services including DNS, WINS, DHCP, and NIC teaming.
  • Deployed finished servers into production environment.
  • Performed assessment of approximately 800 desktop computers for purpose of upgrading.
  • Built new desktop computers in lab and deployed to remote locations. Discovered and saved user specific information and data to network servers. Installed new desktop operating system and software, configured for end user and restored user specific data from servers.
  • Deployed additional user required software via Tivoli.

 

 

  • Installed printers, mapped drives and finalized miscellaneous user settings.
  • Maintained network in test lab with 30 servers and 10 desktops
  • Worked in desktop support group running trouble tickets, troubleshooting and resolving all desktop issues.
