Welcome to my homepage! My name is Dawn Irons and I am
a firm believer in the homeschool movement. As a former Social Worker I
did a year internship with a private Family Intervention program which
was a division of Child Protective Services in Texas. During that time
I witnessed the unnecessary intervention of social services into the private
lives of many families. I saw firsthand the problems from “within the system.”
As a senior social work student I did my senior thesis on “Government
Intervention: The Rights of the State versus the Rights of the Parents”.
It was during the time of my research that I became more and more convicted
of my parental rights and my religious freedoms. So immediately after I
graduated from college in 1996, I gave birth to my 3rd child and began
homeschooling my older 2 children that following spring semester. Due to
the corruption of the system and the conscience of my convictions, I never
pursued a career in the Social Work profession. My college degree in stuck
between two books by Mary Pride on my bookshelf as a constant reminder
to pursue the most high and holy call given to women...motherhood!!
