the Baptist Church. Thomas was a school teacher and carpenter; lived in Swansea, MA
in 1687, and this is the birth place of his 11 children. His 3 sons (Thomas, John, James)
moved to Scituate between 1740 and 1746. Susannah Salisbury was the daughter of
William Salisbury who was born in 1635, died June 1675.

Sarah Miller was the daughter of Josiah Miller of Rehoboth, MA. She is buried
at a South Foster, RI. cemetery which was being used in 1930 as a pasture. Also
buried there, a James Seamans (died 1819) and a Stephen Seamans. Obviously
SFA is telling us that Seamans' were buried there, but the connection is unknown.
After further review I have found that James and Stephen (mentioned above)
could be sons of James ( James, James, Thomas) and Sarah (Cole) Seamans,
but this is just a guess.

VT. (in 1780). Patience Hopkins decended from Thomas Hopkins, an
original settler of Providence, RI., he was 2nd cousin of Stephen

Since Stephen was born 03/07/1707 in Scituate, RI., and died
07/13/1785, one would think that Patience was more closely
related to him, which would change the above "he was 2nd..."

(1) Samuel had a wife and several children. Preserved came to Marietta from
Nova Scotia.85 The names of the sons (Samuel, Gilbert, Preserved, Benajah) listed in green
above agree with SFA, but the father is listed as Preserved while SFA says it
is Gilbert. Need to look into this further, my hunch is that Gilbert is the correct one.

of 200 people from Providence, RI. Pawtuckett and Rehoboth, MA. He
went back to NS after the Revolutionary War and settled at River Hebert,
NS and there some of his descendants lived, to the seventh generation.
Zena (Thomas) Seamans' great-great grandfather was John Thomas,
who came from Wales to America in 1667.

says it was 04/03/1751.

** - According to "Erie County, New York Obituaries", by Bill &
Martha Reamy. Page 238, there is *A* Benjamin "Seaman" who died in
Eden, NY on 06/13/1866, age 79. It just so happens that there is one
Benjamin (in SFA) who nearly fits. Benjamin, born 07/04/1787 WOULD
have been 78 years, 11 months IF he died 06/13/1866. So for the time
being I will list it here as a POSSIBLE match until I can get more proof.

John moved to Abington, now known as La Plume (Lackawana Co.), PA in 1817
with 6 children, purchased a farm for a yoke of oxen, built a log house and
went through the country in the winter time making boots and shoes.
Osena was a member of the 6th Principle Baptist Church of Factoryville, PA
She was decidedly loyal to her family, her country and her God; cherishing
strong faith in Christ as the Savior of Mankind. John and Levina were buried
at Old Bethel burying ground in Factoryville, PA.
