L'Alliance Française est une association au service du public où les individus peuvent approfondir leur connaissance et leur compréhension de la civilisation française. Les membres de l'Alliance et les personnes intéressées se réunissent régulièrement afin d'échanger des idées et de mieux connaître le quotidien, la culture et la langue des pays francophones. Ces personnes participent de manière dynamique a un grand nombre d'activités telles que voyages, conférences, évènements mondains, cours, projections de films ou encore concerts. Français et étudiants en langue française partagent l'obectif commun de rencontrer des personnes à la fois sympathiques et intéressantes qui s'enthousiasment pour le français.
De plus, l'Alliance Francaise est également un centre culturel, et sert de bureau de renseignements pour les francophones. Quant aux personnes qui auraient besoin d'informations pratiques sur les programmes d'échanges ou les éventuels voyages, elles peuvent également se référer à l'Alliance. On peut aussi y venir pour y emprunter des livres, des cassettes vidéos ou audios afin d' améliorer sa compréhension du monde francophone. Enfin, les participants de programmes d'échanges et les personnes de langue française récemment arrivées à Kansas City y trouveront un cercle de personnes amicales qui les aideront volontiers à s'intégrer.

The Alliance Française is an organization that serves the community by acting as the place in Kansas City where individuals can increase their knowledge and appreciation of the French-speaking world. Alliance members and interested people in the community get together on a regular basis to exchange ideas and learn about life, culture and language in French-speaking countries. These people enthusiastically participate in a wide variety of activities such as trips, lectures, social functions, classes, movies and concerts. Native speakers and students of the language alike share their common goals of meeting fun and interesting people who are excited about French.
In addition, the Alliance acts as a resource center and clearing house for native francophones. Those wanting access to information about exchange programs and travel opportunities can go to the Alliance for help. People can also go there to borrow materials such as books, videos and tapes to enhance their apprecitation of the French-speaking world. Exhange students and French speakers new to Kansas City can find a network of people willing and excited about helping them acclimate themselves to life in Kansas City.
