This home page is intended as an informational page on how to join our email discussion list. If you are familiar with mailing lists, then you can skip right down to the 'How to join' section. For those of you who don't, a brief explanation follows.
An email list is one of the oldest forms of communication on the 'net. Before chat rooms and other forms of instantaneous communication were developed, email lists were created for people with various common interests to be able to communicate more efficiently. Rather than maintaining a large list of contacts in your email address book who each had to be emailed or "cc'd", with an email list, you email one time to a specific email address. At that email address, an email robot will pick up your email and automatically redistribute your email to everyone that is a member of that email list.
The name of the email list that I sponsor is "Phoenix & Consolidated Art Glass Discussion List". The name fairly well describes the list. The list is intended as a discussion list for topics related to Phoenix & Consolidated Art Glass. Email on this list can range anywhere from buying, selling, or trading to "Is this P&C?", weekend finds, "Has anybody ever heard of ...?", or even other related companies like Kopp and Muncie. As long as the discussion can be related to P&C glass in some way, then it is fair game.
Actually, although very often lumped together like this, this art glass was made by two different companies. Phoenix Glass Company was located in Monaca, PA and Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company was located in Coraopolis, PA. The art glass made by these companies that is most collected today was made in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. For more information, I refer you to The Phoenix & Consolidated Glass Collectors Club Home Page and Jack Wilson's Home Page (author of "Phoenix & Consolidated Art Glass 1926-1980").
That's easy. Just put your email address into the form below. Then, hit the "Join Group" button to subscribe.
That's easy, too. Send an email to pcglass-list-unsubscribe@egroups.com from the email account that is subscribed to the list and you will automatically be removed from the list. Again, if you have any problems, let me know and I will get you unsubscribed from the list.
If you have any questions about the mailing list, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to help you. For more information about the list, you can also go to http://www.egroups.com/group/pcglass-list/info.html. We would be very happy if you will join us on our discussion list. As they say, "The more, the merrier!"
That's right! We have a web page for our list members. It allows us to shows pictures and tell stories about the pieces that we have found. It also lets us put up pictures of unknown pieces, just in case someone else can identify it for us. To see it, go here.
