   Tower tubes by U.S.Tubular Bell Co., 
   played by loose-rope chiming rack; 
   added semitone is flat 7th; space in 
   rack and frame for 15 notes (sharp 4th
   and four trebles). 
   Also in tower is an 1860 bell by Jones.

*Technical data:

   Chime with Ellacombe stand of 10 tubular bells
   Pitch of heaviest bell is A  in the middle octave
   Transposition is nil (concert pitch)
   Keyboard range:     A G   /    NONE  
   There is one added semitone
   The whole instrument was installed in 1893
     with tubular bells made by USTubular   
   Year of latest technical information source is 2005

The Cathedral Website has a pale photo of the building as a background to part of the home page, but it may be invisible to some Web browsers. The History page (under General Information / About CCC) has two old drawings of the building (as a church, long before it became a cathedral in 1949), but doesn't mention the chime.
