To Whom It May Concern; I have been asked to comment on my participation with Landmark Education and also to give my professional opinion about Landmark's programs. By way of history, I initially heard about Landmark Education Corporation after my younger Sister Kim completed The Landmark Forum in Denver. Although I noticed a marked change in her mood, motivation and actions I remained skeptical about this company and what benefit it might offer me and others. Over the next six months I continued to notice distinct changes in Kim's outlook on life, attitude and disposition. Curiosity and hope got the best of me and I registered for the March, 1994 Salt Lake City Forum. Although I completed The Forum nearly three years ago I continue to hold it was one of the most useful and stabilizing experiences of my life. The Forum was nothing like I imagined it would be. As the leader raised questions people began voluntarily sharing experiences from their life. I found that people sharing about their family. aspirations, past disappointments, etc. genuinely resonated with my own concerns. began to learn about myself.. as reflected in others. Both of my parents, on my invitation, have successfully completed The Forum, as have several of my extended family members. I have on occasion referred higher functioning clients and observed them to be greatly benefitted by their participation. "Julie" came to me initially expressing feelings of isolation, modest depression, and a sense of being stuck both in her family and in her job. I saw her several months after I had referred her to The Forum and observed her to be much happier. She explained The Forum had indeed made a difference as she was able to move beyond some previous experiences. She remarked that she has since developed new friends and has a new outlook and attitude about her life. My professional opinion is that Landmark Education, through courses and seminars, provides a deeply meaningful, rich, and powerful opportunity for well people to learn more about themselves, their lives, and what choices are truly open to them. I have not experienced the organization to be coercive, cult- like, or otherwise negative as participation is fully voluntary. I would be glad to speak with anyone regarding my own experiences with The Forum at any time. Sincerely, Jim Miller, M.D. James A.
