CASTLES
Edinburgh Castle
Here we see a semi-circle of cannons on
the outer wall of this castle in Scotland.
This castle sits on the peak of an
extinct volcano. Inside the castle is
St. Margaret's Church, a Norman church
dating back to the 12th century.
Mary Queen of Scots lived here for a
time. Also, The Scottish Crown Regalia
(sword of state, crown, and scepter)
were hidden here for many years and are
now on display.
Warwick Castle
Certainly one of the largest castles
in England, it is also one of the
oldest. The first fortress was built
on the spot in 914, and in the next
century, the Normans built a wooden
castle there (soon replaced by a
stone one). Most of the older parts
of the present-day castle date from
the 14th century. The dungeons of
Caesar's Tower are a must see.
