Greetings!

The Town of Sucarnoochee, located on the banks of the picturesque Sucarnoochee River in beautiful eastern Mississippi, welcomes you! You're here because you want to know more about the annual Molasses Disaster Festival--the only festival of its kind anywhere!

The 44th Annual Molasses Disaster Festival commemorates the day in 1932 when 2,000,000 gallons of molasses rushed through the streets of Sucarnoochee, killing 21 and injuring dozens more. Today, we celebrate their memory with a unique festival that has led one travel writer to dub Sucarnoochee the "Pamplona of America."

The links on the left will help you navigate our site, but before you begin, be sure to mark your calendars for this year's festival. The dates are December 15-16, 2001, on the Town Square in downtown Sucarnoochee. We're planning a bigger and better festival than ever before, so make your plans now and don't be left out, sugar!
