The Oklahoma Orchid Society is a nonprofit educational organization created to stimulate interest in orchids and their culture.
It is affiliated with the American Orchid Society Inc., the Orchid Digest Corporation, The Southwest Regional Orchid Growers Association, The Oklahoma Native Plant Society and the Oklahoma City Council of Garden Clubs Inc.
The dues are $20. a year. Dues include membership in The Southwest Regional Orchid Growers Association.
OOS Meeting are normally held on the third Sunday of the month, except for Nov. and Dec. at the Will Rogers Garden Center 3400 NW 36th. St. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The meetings begin at 2:00 p.m. Meetings are informal gatherings, dress is casual and plants are displayed and discussed. Lectures, speakers, displays of blooming plants, workshops, exhibits, demonstrations, library material (including video), helpful advice, raffles, plant sales, refreshments and friendly socializing about orchids, are part of these enjoyable meetings.
The Green Growers orchid workshop is held earlier, at 1:00 p.m.
Our annual orchid show is in November, and the greenhouse tour is in October. There is no meeting in December.
