The Whisennands have been involved in the scouting movement for many years.

Dietrich - Joined the scouting program as a cub scout in 1966. Arrow of Light award in 1969. Eagle Scout with Silver and Bronze Palms in June 76. Served 1981-8 as Mustang District Training Chairman - responsible for all adult leader training; since 1988 as Assistant District Commissioner. Active in all phases of district and council leadership and training. Numerous awards include Trainer's Woodbadge, Doctor of Commissioner Science, Silver Beaver, God and Service Award, District Award of Merit, Whitney M. Young Award, Scouter's Key.

Cynthia - Joined the scouting program as a police explorer in 1974. Served since 1981 on Mustang District Training Committee, 1988-2001 as Chairman; serving since 2001 as Assistant District Commissioner. Active in all phases of district and council leadership. Awards include Trainer's Woodbadge, Doctor of Commissioner Science, Silver Beaver, God and Service Award, District Award of Merit, Scouter's Key.

Matthew - Joined the scouting program as a tiger cub in 1991. Awards include Arrow of Light in Feb 95, Eagle Scout in Dec 04, all four God and Country program awards, and Master of Commissioner Science. Serving since 2004 as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 75 and Unit Commissioner in Mustang District.
