Main Characters:

Akira Takaoka

Akira loves computers and when the 9821 series is released, he wants nothing more than to own one. With very little money, he tries to convince a store owner to sell him one -- he fails. On his way home, a man calls over to him from the alley telling him that he can help him out of his predicament. Akira isn't falling for his line until the guy shows him just enough of the box so that he can read 9821 on it. Akira gives the man his money and takes home a large heavy box.

When Akira opens the box is when his troubles really begin. Inside, he doesn't find a computer, but what he at first believes is the body of a young woman! Horrified and fascinated at the same time, before he can figure out what to do, she moves!

Akira is 16 years old, blood type A+, 170 cm tall, and weighs 56 kilos.

Mimi

Mimi is an NBC Pentacle computer (481512bit) - PC 2198AX CPU with a memory of 64TBs, 250MHz with a Lithium Permanence power source. Though she knows all about her own performance capabilities, Mimi does not have any knowledge on the people who created her. Just like other computers, she has access slots, loadable programs, write protect functions, hard drives, etc. she's just packaged a little differently. She easily passes for a human in every respect.

Now that she has an owner, Mimi's first order of business is to update herself with her owner's data. Much to Akira's chagrin, the means that this data is acquired would be a letch's dream.

Mimi is set at age 17. Bust is at 86, waist at 52, hips at 88.

Fault

Fault is a PC 2198AZ CPU with 64TB but can reach up to 100. She wants that 100, but in order to get it, she has to steal it from other units. She and her owner have no compulsions against doing that.

Story Summary

Once she is activated and the owner data gets recorded, Akira has no real choice but to keep Mimi. Unfortunately, the higher models have been made more and more dependent on their owners for upkeep. For most men, this wouldn't be a problem, but Akira would rather pick his time and place for sex rather than have it demanded of him. You see, for Mimi's type, she must have sex of one type or another, at least every few days in order to keep her systems from degrading. If there's a need for her to use some of her higher functions, like her battle software, she must have it again in order to give herself a temporary upgrade in memory. And with Fault trying to steal her CPU, she's going to need a lot!

As Akira tries to get used to Mimi's presence and needs, the two of them stumble over other androids and we learn more about the capabilities and restraints of Mimi and others like her. (Yes, there are others!) Always in the background is the question of who invented these androids and why they are out there.

Shintani's manga is full of humor and sexually embarrassing situations. There is a lot of nudity and implied sex. The manga is also a wonderland for the computer literate. Shintani-san definitely knows his computers! At the time of this writing, only one volume was presently available.
