I was recently thinking about
the effect the 98-99 strike
season had on players'
statistics. David
Robinson would've gotten
3,000 blocks. Hakeem
Olajuwon would've cracked
the top 10 in rebounding,
and would've been the 5th
highest scorer in history
(the #1 non-30,000 point
scorer). But the biggest
impact losing those 32 games
had were on John Stockton
and Karl Malone. Stockton
would've finished with
16,000 assists, and joined
the 20,000 point club.
Malone would have at least
760 more points, and would
only have had to average 8.54
per game in one more season
to break Abdul-Jabbar's
scoring record. This assumes,
of course, that these players
didn't sustain any
career-altering injuries
during those 32 games, but...
