CHRISTMAS
PART II
3.) Was Jesus an infant when the Wise Men came?
Matthew 2:7-14
"Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired
of them diligently what time the star appeared. "...Go and
search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him
bring me word again that I amy come and worship him also. "...went
before them till it came and stood over where the young child was.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child
with Mary his mother, and fell down and worshipped him; and when
they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts;
gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. "...Arise, and take the
young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there
until I bring thee word. ...he took the young child and his mother
by night, and departed into Egypt;"
Matthew 2:16
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was
excceding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the chilren that were
in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old
and under, according to the time which he had dilegently enquired
of the wise men.
King Herod had destroyed all the children 2 years
old and under according to the time that the shepherds inquired
of the King of the Jews, Jesus. So if he was still an infant, why
all the children 2 years old? So ask yourself, could Christ still
be in a manger, just born?
4.) What does the Bible say about heathen practices?
Ezekiel 11:12
And ye shall know that I am the Lord: for ye have not walked in
my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after
the manners of the heathen that are round about you.
Ezekiel 23:30
I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring
after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
Jeremiah 10:2-5
Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not
dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at
them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a
tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with
the ax. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with
nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the
palm tree but speek not: they must needs be borne, because they
cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither
also is it in them to do good.
5.) What about the traditions of man?
Mark 7:9
He said to them,"All too well you reject the commandment of
God, that you may keep your own traditions.
Matthew 15:8-9
These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with
their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship
Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
Colossians 2:8,22
Beware lest anyone spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the owrld, and
not after Christ. Which all are to perish with the using; after
the commandments and doctrines of men?
Proverbs 14:12
There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof
are the ways of death.
