FINAL
DAYS PART I
Man has heard since the beginning of time, for thousands
of years about the return of Christ and the end of the world. Can
we really believe we could possibly be living in the end of times?
We have heard this and so many have looked for His return, how could
we know if this is really the time of the end? Did Christ leave
us any signs to look for?
1. What will be the signs the disciples asked?
Matthew 24:3
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto
him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and
what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Luke 21:29-31
And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the
trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves
that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these
things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at
hand.
You see that Christ used the Fig tree as an example
of signs. We use the same signs when we see Spring approaching.
The disciples believed Christ when He spoke of the end, but they
wanted to know what the signs were going to be. Christ reassured
them that there will be signs pointing to His return but it is up
to us to look and watch for them. He did leave us signs, but what
are we to look for?
What will the churches be like in the last days?
Revelation 3:14-17
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These
things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning
of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither
cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou
art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of
my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
II Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition;
I John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they
are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Luke 21:32-36
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till
all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words
shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time
your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and
cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For
as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the
whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be
accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass,
and to stand before the Son of man.
According to the scriptures above we see the condition
that the Churches will be in, lukewarm, gray, nothing considered
evil anymore. We see how it makes our Lord sick. The church will
be accepting false teachings due to the increase of false teachers.
He tells us to try the spirits for this reason. Cares of the world
will become the importance of teachings, no more of what God says.
God set the dos and don'ts, no man has the power to change this,
no one.
2 Timothy 3:1-7
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded,
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this
sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women
laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and
never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:13
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving,
and being deceived.
Men will be lovers of themselves! We live in such
a time where "I", "Me" is number one, think
of yourself first I am the important one. Lovers of peasures more
than lovers of God! These are just 2 that He spoke of being signs
to look for. Compare the stadiums when there is football, baseball,
hockey, then compare the church parking lots, what do we love the
most? Lovers of fun, enjoyment, parties that describes today. What
about the others? Coveting, you have to have things today, now,
instant credit everywhere; liars, words mean nothing today, you
have lawyers that have loopholes; unthankful, unholy, look at the
times we live in to how he compares it in the Bible. He writes them
out for us!
Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to
the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall
be increased.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness
for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and
sweet for bitter!
Knowledge increased, we live in a time where all
we have to do is type in a word and so much information comes up
for us. Knowledge is everywhere, we are able to find out information
on anything we desire. He speaks of our times when "they will
turn away their ears from the truth" who wants the truth today?
A simple thing like the number 7 and number 1, He says to keep the
7th day Holy? Difficult? Who really wants to hear the truth? Today
we don't say the word "wrong", it's "evil",
no we say well, I don't do it, but if it's right for you o.k. It
isn't o.k. with God, if He said it was wrong 6,000 years ago, it
is still wrong today. Christ hasn't changed, nor has His words.
These are just more signs to look for before His return.
