HOLLOWEEN
PART I
Where did this tradition come from? What does Hallowe'en
stand for? Should Christians observe this day? Shouldn't we examine
our Holidays, (Holy Days)? What does the Bible say? Shouldn't we
question our festivals to see what we are celebrating? Something
that seems "fun" may end up being deadly, such as Hallowe'en.
Hallowe'en stems back to ancient times among the
Druids. The Druids celebrated the first of November as the New Year
and October 31 marked the death of the old year. The Druids believed
on the evening of Oct. 31 Samhain, the false god of the dead, brought
forth the spirits to return to there homes for that evening. The
Druids customarily lit great fires that evening and presented "sacrifices"
to protect them from evil deeds done by the visiting spirits. These
sacrifices were the "treats" to keep them from the "tricks"
which the spirits might do that evening.
After their conquest of Britain, the Romans added
to the Hallowe'en tradition. Features of the Roman Festival, held
on November first in honor of Pomona, goddess of the fruits of the
trees. The tradition of the Druids of lighting fires on Hallowe'en
survived until modern times in Scotland and Whales, and in the concept
of ghosts and witches still common to all Hallowe'en observances.
Traces of the Roman harvest festival survived in the custom, prevalent
both in the United States and England, of playing games involving
fruits, such as dunking for apples in a tub of water, and the decorative
use of pumpkins which are hollowed out, carved to resemble horrible
faces and illuminated by candles placed inside.
The Webster New World Dictionary says: "trick
or treat-give me a treat or I will play a trick on you." This
is the same thing that happened on Oct. 31, the Druids would present
animal sacrifices for the treats, so the spirits would not play
a trick on them.
Hallowe'en is a very evil tradition, no Christian
should partake in the activities of this holiday. We say how cute
or laugh at the costumes, witches, goblins, ghost, devils, skeletons
and such. All these represent Satan, our evil adversary. Skeletons,
black cats, darkness, they all represent death and evil. Once again
satan has gained the approval of Christians by making it seem like
innocent fun.
Satanists celebrate this as their high holy day
and still offer human sacrifices to the devil. October 31st is truly
a day of darkness, a darkness to Christianity, as you see them opening
there church doors and inviting the children in for Hollowe'en.
When we teach children it is alright to play with the things of
darkness at a young age, let's not be surprised when they grow up
and accept evil rather than to resist it.
Jack-O-Lanterns, Costumes, Black Candles, Treats,
they are all used for Black Masses, held on All Hallow's Eve, October
31st. Fact: Jack-O-Lanterns; used for centuries to scare decent
folks away from the secret Black Masses held that night. Costumes;
are worn to aid Witches in the Black Arts of shape-shifting and
channeling. Treats; Witches and Satanists use to obtain an item
from you that can later be used in a curse or spell agains you.
Black Candles; are commonly used to invoke Demonic Forces.
If you or your children are having a party, or attending
a hallowe'en party, you are only saying one thing, I accept the
powerful Demonic Forces.
