Student Expectations:
Completion of all assignments.
Late work will be worth a maximum of 70% if turned in within a reasonable period of time.
Extreme late work will be worth a maximum of 50%.
If you are absent you must make arrangements to make up missed work in your own time regardless of the reason for your absence. 

I am available for tutoring on certain afternoons by arrangement. See me before you get desperate!

Math 8 VG/Pre-AP

Statistics (spreadsheet applications; connections to current events and real data)
Geometry (Pythagoras; connections to algebra; 3D polyhedra)
Algebra (focus on getting ready for Algebra 1)
Probability and other topics in Finite Math
We will do problem solving all year with an emphasis on writing quality solutions.

Algebra 1 Honors

Students must maintain a B average to stay in the course. 1st semester emphasis on equation solving, function terminology and linear functions
2nd semester emphasis on linear systems, quadratic functions, exponential and rational functions.
Each semester average (for 0.5 credit) will be determined by:
First and Second (or Third and Fourth) Nine weeks average (80%)
Semester exam (20%)
