Yikes! We just noticed that when something is submitted to the guestbook, and it tells you something like "return to the home page," it actually takes you to the navigation frame that you usually see on the left! The guestbook CGI (program) was not made by us; it was made by Southwestern Bell, so we're not able to fix it. Just click on the "Home" link on the left frame.

Hi Kathy, My son Mike is 12 and HFA. I have attended conferences in Norman that I think you helped coordinate. I always learn something new and enjoy being with others who want to learn and share about autism. Thanks for the site. We live in Stillwater, but would like to attend a meeting sometime.

Yes, I'm still alive. Yes, we do plan to update the site some more. Unfortunately, homework is taking up most of my time. With any luck, the site'll be updated more frequently when school's out. Until then, nothing new will probably go up, but we will try to keep the meeting dates up-to-date. See you at a meeting!

PS: If you're wondering why I wrote my e-mail address that way, it's a way to stop spamming bots.

I am desperately needing help...if you can that would be great! Have 12 yo son who's primary is cerebral palsy...but I think there is more to it, the older he gets! How do I go about finding the right assistance? School is no help, because they don't want to pay for anything more than the bare minimum. I have got to do something, I am at wits end with him, and I don't like to feel this way about my own child! Please help!!!

I live in newton , ks. My 10 year old daughter was diognosed almost two years ago. We are still finding it hard to find anyone that has a child with this disorder. SO people look at our child like she is just out of control. I have talke to my family about my daughter and they say that she is just beibg anormal 10 year old girl. She has been able to get ssi for her challanges. So we know that she has this disorder because she has seen doctors, and has the diognosis. I know of one other child with this diognosis, other than that I am at a loss. We don't have any groups herein Newton . I would like as much information as I can get too help educate people. The school had hard time becouse they did not want to put in her IEP that she had asperger syndrom. I hadfight to get that done. Thank You for taking the time to read this letter I can't find any one tha can understand what I am going though with my daughter

We are considering relocating to the Enid area (husband's job transfer). We currently live in the Twin Cities, MN, and our 9 y/o has Autism. The schools here are VERY good, and I am concerned about "inclusion" in the public schools in Oklahoma. TIA for any information.

I have a 19 y/o son who's characteristics over his whole lifespan greatly resemble those of Aspergers; and I've thought over the last few years that there was more to his circumstances than I was recognizing. Yesterday while attending an educational workshop on Aspergers & related disorders I got so excited that I had possibly finally found that which I have been looking for for so long, that I could hardly contain myself. I plan on attending the very next meeting/ meetings in Oct., for both the general Autism group and the Aspergers group. I've already sent emails requesting info. on the dates. I would like to get him tested. He is living on his own now away from home but in the same vicinity; however, he has gotten to a point in trying to figure himself out that he suspects also that more is going on than what is on the surface. He wishes to get it checked out but doesn't know how. I hope you all can help him. Looking forward to the meeting. Thank you for being here, in my own town of Norman, OK. I feel like you are a Godsend.--KW

This looks like a great place to begin our search for help with my grandson. It's nice to know there are people out there who can share with us and understand the many challenges that go along with autsim disorders.

hi, just a passing question - how many people, adults and/or children, have been helped with the recent discovery of enzymes/nutritional helps for autism and/or asperger? (Channel 11, tulsa, PBS, aired a documentary highly touting this as a potential cure, the first in 80 years)

I grew up in Moore, Oklahoma and lived in Edmond until I was thirty. I now live in a little beach town in Florida where there are few resources for my son who struggles with Asperger's. I really need to talk to somebody who can help me. Jacob is extremely intelligent but becomes very upset if he loses in any game. So much so that he was booted out of his school (he's 7) and put into an autism (ESE) classroom in town with very low functioning (non verbal) children. I feel like they have shelved him because he is a challenge. Has anybody had a similar experience with their child? I just do not know what to do.
GO COWBOYS!!

My son has aspergers syndrome and was diagnosed at age 24. He is now 29 yrs. old. He has a long history and is doing very well. He lives on his own, drives, works, and has even gone to some college. He is very High functioning because we started very early getting him envolved at Childrens Medical Cntr. when he was just 9 mos. old. He had seizures until age 18 mos. and they stopped at that time. He had an IEP all through school. Graduated on time and has always done good. He only started taking meds. at age 24. If anyone needs help or would like to talk about there child, I have alot of experiance, having raised John, and would like to help give back this knowledge to people in need. Thank you. God Bless

Thanks so much for the helpful information on your website. My step-son is being tested for Asperger's next week. We really feel like this may be the answer and help us in parenting him. But most importantly in getting the school to help us and educate his teachers on how to work with him. If he is diagnosed I will definitely try to attend a meeting in my attempts to learn more from others with more experience.
