CAREER INTERESTS:
I initially began working as a contractor to quickly gain a variety
of new experiences. Despite the added stress associated with starting a
new job every year or two, I have enjoyed the challenge. Eventually, I
hope this experience leads to a more stable position as a group leader
with more of an analytical role.

EMPLOYMENT:
TRW Systems and Information Technologies Group (April
1999 - present) Lead Analyst. Direct fellow
programmers in the manintence of the Overpayments system, the Skills system,
and other projects as needs warrent. Using Cobol II, Command Level
CICS, IMS/DLI, Data Junction, Anacomp's CD writer, Expeditor, etc.
CONTRACT PROGRAMMER (October 1991 - April 1999)
-
(September 1997 - April, 1999) TRW Systems and Information Technology Group.
TRW has the outsourcing contract for the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
Here I used Cobol II, CICS, IMS DL/I in support of the Overpayments system.
Overpayments recovers over $1.5 million dollars paid to program
recipients in error, or by fraud. I also supported the job applicant
tracking system (SKILLS), and worked in the DayCare System. (The
state funds day care for children of low income working parents.)
I also helped upgrade the GEAC accounting system to a Y2K complient version.
Also helped develop the Purchase Order Obligation Tracker System, which
tracks nearly one billion dollars in expenditures by DHS every year.
Additionally used Expeditor, Anacomp's CD Writer software, Data Junction
(data conversion software for migrating data from the mainframe to PC.)
In this case from VSAM files to SQL server.

(August 1996 - April, 1997) Century Telephone in Monroe, Louisiana is the
thirteenth largest telephone company in the US. They have over one million
customers in 13 states. Here I used Cobol II, CICS, and DL/I-IMS. I converted
data that was stored free form on the data base to a form that can be used
for directory assistance, and automated telephone directory updates.

(July, 1995 - August, 1996) USAble Systems, a subsidiary of Arkansas Blue
Cross and Blue Shield. It led to an offer of permanent employment. Unforutnately,
USAble systems has been all but discontinued by ABCBS. I worked on the
Decision Power system, using CICS, IMS/DLI, VSAM files, and batch COBOL
II.

(August, 1992 - January, 1995) Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield - I
was responsible for the Med B Payment Recovery system. I converted the
batch portion of the system to COBOL II, coordinating production runs,
file maintenance and releases with Minnesota and Louisiana Blue Crosses.
Eventually, changes in system requirements and federal mandates necessitated
a complete rewrite of the system. I was pleased to take part in the redesign
and rewrite of the batch portion of the system.

(May, 1991 - December, 1991) Alltel - Here the contractors were used to
free up the time of the regular employees. I employed skills in COBOL,
EasyTreive, various file manipulations and writing production JCL.

(Various times) ComCepts - I have done several Quick Basic jobs for Comcepts
here in Little Rock, using interactive multi-media. These programs are
designed as computer product tutorials.

My first contract job was with D & M Consulting and a manufacturer
in Little Rock, who had implemented a new process on the front end of their
system. The MIS manager wanted me to fix some problems they were having
with some PL/I programs. After a thorough review of the programs in question,
I traced the problem back to the new PC/LAN front end.

Senior Programmer/Analyst (January 1992 - July 1992) This position
gave me the opportunity to refresh my COBOL, work extensively with VSAM
files, and learn CICS and also IMS/DL/I, a data base language.
ACXIOM - Associate Software Engineer
(February 1988 - June 1991)

Media Services Support Group (October 1990 - June 1991) Writing
file maintenance relational data base programs for client set up. Lent
my Output Generator Exit expertise to other groups when called upon to
do so. Used assembler, COBOL and EasyTreive skills.

LOFS Team (January 1990 - September 1990) Maintaining and enhancing
code in some of the over 250 programs of the system. Worked under a tight
release schedule. Acted as a resource to client support teams for specific
information regarding design and coding of exit and interface programs.
Thorough testing of all enhancements to the system. Acted as rotating primary
for and handle problem calls from users of the system.

APEX Programming Effort (November 1989 - January 1990) Design, write
and debug seven programs from minimal designs in twenty-five days. I was
one of sixteen programmers from within the company to complete 189 batch
programs and 76 on-line applications in twenty-five days. Developed an
on-line user interface program to build JCL and submit procs across the
architecture to the MVS console.

List Industries, Client Support Programmer (February 1988 - November
1989) I met day to day user specific programming needs of our clients.
Worked with account service teams to perform analysis of their needs and
meet all programming requests in a timely manner. I became adept at Output
Generator exits, which lead to my position on the LOFS team.
