Thanks for the encouragement, Stan. You may definitely add my link to either or both of the web pages. I've never done this before, and I am really pleased with the results. This has been a labor of love, and something I have felt has been needed for quite a while. Good luck in the coming year.

Judy,
You may think I am stupid, but I have pasted your URL and get no finds using
Netscape Browser. I have tried www in front of it. Can you please put in
what you have and press search on an engine and tell me you found it and
what engine you used?
Does you site have a name or come up under any topical search that I could
use. I usually am able to find sites that people put the URLs out for. I am
very interested in Transition Curriculum.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Cheryl,
I'm sorry that you had problems finding the site. Try this one:

Hi Judy:
Reviewed your site - looks like it has some really good information. Just a note to check each of your pages and the information/links etc. Your Assistive Technology page gave me information on Inclusion - wrong set of links I think. The IDEA page would not connect - told me it couldn't be found. The Inclusion page has the information but the links are in code so there is no way to connect to the sites listed.

I had to work on development and set up of a website for a project I was on - in the beginning we had to go back into a lot of our pages and correct link addresses or information that had somehow not been set up right. We actually had to go back in about quarterly and check all of our links and pages because sometimes webpages would discontinue or information would go bad and then our links didn't work!

Anyway, I would like to pass your page on to a listserv we have here in Minnesota but want to wait until all of your links are working so that they can access the information right away. Let me know when they are running.

I appreciate you sharing this and taking so much time to do such a comprehensive review and listing. Keep up the good work!!

Pam

Just got my first look at your transition web page. Here is another
resource you may want to check out and consider including. Ansel-Casey Life

Hi Pam,

Thank you so much for your comments about my homepage. I just put it up in the last week, because my class project was due. I took a class on my first web page from Connected University. I have been working on the links all week, and today, I finally got to the Inclusion page and IDEA link, which I'm so glad you reminded me about. It's pretty much a work in progress. I have never done anything like this, but felt a page with links about Transition and Special Education was really needed. I am a Vocational Adjustment Coordinator at my high school in charge of all Transition meetings. I've been using a computer for 20 years, but this was the first computer class I have taken. I've really enjoyed it, and will be able to use it with my career awareness classes as well as share the links with faculty members at my school and school district. It's been a wonderful experience. Thanks again.

Hi Linda,

I hope you had a nice summer and will enjoy your new job this year. We will all miss you here. I took another class this summer called My First Web Page, which is the reason that I finally did this page. Could you take a look at it for me and tell me what you think? Thanks. :)

It sounds like a great experience. I am really impressed with what you have done. Keep up the good work. And don't get discouraged updating those links - it is something that has to be done forever once you create a web page!! But it provides a really valuable service for others.
Have a great summer.

Pam

Hey Judy,
I really liked your page. Nice tie-in with the dream catcher. Your links look really helpful. I've bookmarked your site because we're having to consider special ed uses of the Virtual School. TH Rogers will be having a class of deaf students taking the Language
Arts-Writing course I'm designing. I just found this out (after I've completed a good hunk of the semester), so I'm having to go back and make sure all my audio is duplicated in text.

It's great to hear from you. You know, I miss SHS and the kids already (even though school hasn't even started). Hope you've enjoyed your summer. I've been here on the job, but it's been interesting (most of the time). Did you take your class on Connected University? I think our on-line courses will be easier to navigate. If you go to Blackboard.com you can get a glimpse of the some of the software we're using.
Keep in touch.
Linda T.

Hi Judy,

I liked your web page. It was easy to navigate and read and provided valuable information to visitors.

Feel free to check out my site at www.Cruise-Consulting.bigstep.com. It describes a new transition resource I developed called "The Cruise to College Success." Check it out if you are interested and let me know what you think.

Hello Judy,
I visited your website. It seems to cover many disability areas and should be a great place for students and parents to start searching for information. I also enjoyed reading your personal info section. It sounds as if you have to really great daughters.

Thank you Faith,
I have really enjoyed doing this page. It's been a labor of love. I worry that the parents and students don't have enough information about what they can do with their lives, and my involvement in transition meetings for 200 students at Scarborough High School has made this more apparent. Then, Houston Independent School District contracted with Connected University to help the teachers come into the 21st century in their technology skills. We could do the online classes at our own computers from home or school. My summer project was learning how to write a web page in a little class called My First Web Page. With all the links I had already, and search engines to find more links, I had more than enough information, it was just getting it all together. I am continuing to update daily as I see other links that might be helpful.

Hi Faith,

Go to my page at http://home.swbell.net/jraneri/ and click on Career Link. Then go down to O'Net Online. They have a beta software for the new DOT, which is now called O'NET. This is a description from my page.

Using O*NET OnLine, the new DOT, a Web-based application that provides user-friendly access to O*NET occupational information, you can: 1) find occupations to explore; 2) search for occupations that use your skills; 3) look at related occupations; 4) view occupational snapshots, including the most important characteristics of the worker and requirements of the jobs, 5) view details of occupations, such as skills, knowledge, interests, and activities; 6) use crosswalks to find corresponding occupations in other classification systems; and connect to other on-line career information resources.http://www.onetcenter.org/career/index.html

They have all the job descriptions on this link. I was searching for DOT,
when I happened upon it. I hope that helps you.

Hi Joseph,
I used to teach in a "life skills" class for high school students with
moderate to severe developmental disabilities. I plan to eventually have a

you might be able to find information on my Individual Transition Plan link

Dear Judy,

I am developing an annotated list of websites on transition. I would like to include your webpage. In addition to your name, the title and URL for your page, and your e-mail address, I would the date your page was last updated and your title, as part of my citation. Unless I assume incorrectly, you would not like your address and telephone listed. I will e-mail a copy of the final bibliography sometime in August. I am attaching a current list of articles and resources on the topic.

Dear Judy,

Thank you for your prompt response.  I hope that my website bibliography will help you reach your goal of reaching as many people as possible.  I will be e-mailing the finished bibliography to you and over 30 other people (to date) whose e-mail addresses are included in the bibliography.  In addition, people doing research who request the current update on Transition at our Center will be know about your website.

Good luck on handling your added responsibilities!

Sincerely,

Hi Steve,

I just received your email today, and was truly honored that you would
want to use my webpage.  This was my first attempt at webpage design,
but I had a desire to reach as many people with disabilities as I could.
It has truly been a labor of love.  I'm a Vocational Adjustment
Coordinator in the Houston ISD, but the last year, after September 11th,
our department chairperson was called   to the Coast Guard, so I took on
another job as our Special Education Director at our school, as well as
continuing with the VAC job.  I felt like if he could do that for his
country, the least I could do was to take on an additional job until he
came back.  This is one of the reasons that I have  not updated the pages
until school was out.    The requested information follows:

Judy,

I checked out your website at home Thursday night and it is wonderful. I was so impressed with the scope and amount of work you have done.

I just tried to access the site at school today and the site was unavailable. Do you know if there is a temporary problem or could it be my school network?

Pat Rogers

I just took my Occ Prep kids to the library yesterday and had them access your site. They enjoyed looking at the different links. The librarian was impressed with the graphics, too.

Judy,

My wife came up with our email address, she says her father used to speek Native Creek and "inxchay" means "Hello".
I am glad you registered with Classmates, through them I found and enjoyed your website, especially the info about the dream catchers. I have admired them but did not know the background. I will be looking for one to give my wife, for various reasons she needs one.
I am a 1976 graduate of Ross Sterling. Like your daughter, Tina, I am also a "draftsperson". I work for an engineering company and our office is in the "old" K-Mart building in Baytown.
I can see from your website that you enjoy your work and have touched many lives in a positive way. I wish that there were more people like you to give the youth of today a hope that dreams can be achieved.
