What did the 1800's village of "Green Springs" become in later years and
even today ?   Ans. Safety  Harbor.

The settlement known as "Eagles Nest ?     Ans.  Bayview, which also had a
cattle shipping facility developed by Capt James P. McMullen. The animals
were herded into deep water, lassoed then made to swim to the ships, where
they were hoisted aboard with slings and pulleys.

The first Post Office in West Hillsborough, which at the time included our
Pinellas County, was established in 1874 . Where ? Again in the newly named
village of Bayview. This was also accomplished by Captain James P. McMullen.
This area is still in existance today but much changed with old homes
removed but the stately Oaks still remain.
Where ?  East on Gulf to Bay Blvd, then South on Bayview Ave just west of
McMullen-Booth Rd.

During the civil war herds of cattle were sent from this part of the state
to Charleston and Savanna. At that time they had to be driven as there were
blockades at the mouths of the harbors.
