Fraktur

The Pennsylvania German Graktur of The Free Library of Philadelphia compiled by Frederick S. Weiser and Howell J. Heariey, published by PA German Society and The Free Library of PA, Breinigsville, 1976, has a picture of a fraktur for Daniel Peter. The original fraktur is located at the library. It says, For Daniel, son of Daniel and Catharine (Seigfriedt) Peter, born Feb. 7, 1810, Heidelberg Twp., Northampton Co., baptized March 11 by Joh. Gobrecht. Sponsors, Kasper and Elisabet Peter.

Fraktur is an "art of decoration more than a thousand years old" created by the PA Germans.
