Questions/Mysteries surrounding this Peter family

Discussion about Casper Peter-trying to sort them and find when/where they are buried.
(From the History of Lehigh County, HLC) Caspar Peter arrived in Philadelphia on the ship "louther" Oct. 124, 1731. It is possible and dougtless probably, that he was the father of Jacob, Casper, and Rudolph Peter ... Now with the HLC you have to check everything as they are sometimes wrong. But in all my research I found that Jacob Casper and Rudolph's father was Casper II born 1724. I think that the Casper who arrived was Casper II whether his father Casper I who supposedly was also coming to America made it or not is a question.

The Peter Family Genealogy recorded in the History of Lehigh County states
that Caspar Peter arrived in Philadelphia on the ship "Louther," Oct. 14,
1731. In fact, Casper Peter is on the ships list for the Lowther (List
17A) which qualified Oct. 14, 1731 (Pennsylvania German Pioneers, ed. W. J.
Hinke, Pennsylvania German Society, Norristown, PA 1934). It is
interesting that the name appears as Casper Betschen on Lists 17B and
17C. Nonetheless, this appears consistent with the birth dates and places
of the children of Casper Peter and Maria Zuppinger that you submitted to
the ancestral file.
I believe that Casper Peter I died after 1761 because he is listed as
administering the will of my ancestor Johann Theis Hisge. Northampton Co
Wills recorded for Hans Thys Hisge, Hydelberg. Adm 19 Mar 1761 Casper Peter
& Elizabeth w/o Henry Geiger. Inv 9 Jan. 1761, Michael Ohl Sr & George
_____. Vendue 7 Mar 1761. Elizabeth Peter widow of late Thys Hisge (see
Casper Peter above). Johann Theis Hisgen is on ships list Rowand which
qualified Sept. 29, 1753. It is instructive that he traveled with Johann
Theis Rubsamen and Christian Rusamen, certainly relatives of Anna Elizabeth

I looked up the website that was referenced as referring to Caspar (born 1698). It lists Pg 1000 of Vol III of the HLC. I looked at my own copy of it and it says that Caspar the father of John and Caspar (born 1754) was the progentor of the family. Looking at the source (HLC) which is sometimes wrong and also that I have Caspar (born 1724) having among other children Casper (born 11 Feb 1753) I believe she has her Caspar's wrong.
I personally subscribe to Chris Peters research that the Father of Jacob Rudolph and Casper died on the way to the USA (the new world at that time) especially as he would have been almost 60 when Casper (1754 [or 1753]) was born.
I think the HLC is just off by a generation, plus the fact that the 3 sons of Caspar (1698) would have come from Switzerland to here and Caspar (1724) by my research is buried at Neffs. Jeff Padell

Questions/comments about the mysterious Dewalt/Theobald Peter.
How is Dewalt/Theobald Peter connected to the traditional three brothers, Casper, Rudolf and Hans Jacob, from Switzerland?
According to Baptisms and some Marriages Schlosser's Church, Theobald Peter and Catharine Rex are sponsors for Jacob and Susanna Rex's son, Jacob's baptism. Jacob is a part of the three traditional brothers' families. Also Theobald and Catherine Rex Peter had Casper and Elizabeth sponsor the baptism of their daughter, Elizabeth.
J Pedigree 2134 of World Family Tree Vol 16 lists an Amanda Peter b 10/22/1852 w/o Jeremiah Snyder b 7/3/1847. Other early entries in this file are from Lehigh County, PA. Could this Amanda be the d/o William Peter and Maria Paul?

Who are the parents of Sarah Ann Peter born July 29, 1841? I have found her listed as the daughter of Elias Peter and Elizabeth Wehr. I have also found her listed as the daughter of Elias Peter and Elizabeth Snyder. I think she is the daughter of Elias and Elizabeth Wehr Peter because of the baptismal records in the Heidelberg book. Any other ideas, comments?

Would you like to be a part of the group researching this family? Peter family researchers are Al, Pat, Nancy, Chris, Dave, Earl and Sheri. We would love to add you to this list.
- J Al Rauch lives a short drive away from where the Peter brothers first settled. He can trace two pathways through his mother back to Casper Peter, II, and through his father can trace an additional path to Casper, II, as well as another path to Hans Jacob.

Sheri Cook descends from two of the three traditional three brothers, Rudolf and Casper.

Nancy Foster is a descendant of Adam Peters of Crawford County, PA. This makes her connection with the traditional three brothers through Johan Jacob Peter, son of Hans Jacob, the oldest of the three. She also has a second connection through Adam's wife, Elisabeth Baer, who was the great-grand-daughter of Hans Jacob Peter through the marriage of his daughter Elisabeth to Jacob Baer.
- J
Pat Roberts is another descendant of Adam Peters of Crawford County, PA. Her line is through Hans Jacob (1722/23-1778), John Jacob (1766-1850), Adam (1788-1864), Ephraim (1828-1857) and Marvin (1849-1911). Pat shares Nancy's second connection through Adam's wife, Elisabeth Baer.
