The WonderMast is the result of one broadcast engineers frustration with other brands of masts.  The WonderMast does not contain an air dampening system. While the does present a limit on the dead weight that can be safely lowered on the mast, the lack of seals for this system greatly enhances the reliability of the mast.  How reliable?  The very first WonderMast sold in 1998 is still in use at a station that does an average of 2 remotes a weekend.

The WonderMast is not a free standing mast system.  It must be used wtih a truck, van, or car to provide counter weight for the drive on plate.
