Flying Field: TEXAS WINGS' NEW FLYING FIELD IS OPEN!! We have a well-maintained 500x100 North/South grass runway, two large pit and parking areas, separate helicopter flight area, sun shelter/pilot/spectator area, picnic tables, and porta-potti. Unless in use by members, this field is normally locked; spectators always welcome. Take a look, you may be interested in joining Texas Wings Flying Club. Directions to our new field: From North Loop 820, proceed north on 35W, exit North on 287, exit on FM718/Newark (approx 7mi.), turn left and travel approximately 3.2mi, turn left on Morris-Dido Rd., travel approximately 1/2mi., turn right at gate into Texas Wings' Flying Field. THE MAPSCO LOCATION, FOR OUR FIELD, IS 3F....which matches the satellite photo on this webpage.

Flying Field Rules:

  1. Proof of current individual AMA Insurance is required to be displayed at all times.
  2. When operating model engine, courtesy & safety require using either end of pit area.  DO NOT point running engine in the direction of people in the pit/spectator area.
  3. Engines exceeding .09 displacement must use a muffler.
  4. All flying must be conducted to the East of the runway, or completely North or South of the pit area, as conditions allow.
  5. Pilots must station themselves on the designated Flight Boxes, and must be accompanied by an observer/assistant to prevent injuries or accidents.
  6. Maximum of four aircraft in-flight allowed.
  7. Taxiing in the Pit area is not permitted. 
  8. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited, on the premises. 
  9. Profane, abusive, or otherwise offensive language or behavior is prohibited.
  10. Each person must  take their own trash home with them, at the end of each of flying session.
  11. Helicopters must observe fixed wing flight pattern, and flight rules.
  12. Visiting Flyers:
               - must be accompanied by Club-member/sponsor, while flying.
               - must display proof of current AMA Insurance.
               - must conform to all Field Rules.
               - are limited to 3 flying-visits, in one calendar-year, without being required
                 to pay Club membership dues.

  Willful, continued, non-compliance to Flying Field Rules will result in forfeiture of access to the Club Flying Field.
