QUILTING SERVICES
MINIMUM PRICE: $65 This is the minimum for any quilting, regardless of size.
MACHINE BASTING for your hand quilting: $65
EDGE-TO-EDGE PANTOGRAPH QUILTING (overall design): This is a hand-guided continuous-line design option, in which the quilter follows a printed pattern, such as roses, leaves, stars, etc. Pantographs are quilted from edge to edge of the quilt top, without regard to blocks or borders. Although I no longer do pantograph quilting, I have included this category since I can recommend several excellent machine quilters who specialize in this type of quilting at very reasonable prices.
CUSTOM QUILTING: This entails a more complex design, such as freehand natural forms like leaves, flowers, and feathers, as well as individual quilting designs in separate blocks and sashings, and is the most labor-intensive. It takes into consideration the unique characteristics of your quilt top, and includes stabilizing and separate border designs. Current prices range from 3.8¢ to 5.5¢ PSI. BATTING:
100% Cotton Warm & Natural Batting: 90" or 120" wide. Other types of batting are also available, such as Quilter's Dream Cotton, Poly, Blend, or Angel (flame retardant), as well as Hobbs Polydown Plus, 80/20, or 100% Wool.
BACKING:
Most customers prefer to make their own backing, to match or coordinate with the quilt top. However, I can provide 90" and 108" wide muslin upon request.
Please NOTE: If you provide your own batting and backing, they should each measure 6" to 8" larger than the quilt top. For example, a 70" x 90" quilt top must have at least a 76" x 96" backing and batting, due to the quilting process.
THREAD: $8 flat rate per quilt. Thread color changes: $5 per additional thread color.
PREPARE Customer's Quilt, if necessary: (trimming, removing loose threads, pressing, piecing Customer's backing or batting, any other problem-solving required): $25 per hour; 1-hour minimum.
BINDING: includes making the binding from the customer's fabric, hand finishing: $.25 per linear inch (1 to 1-1/4 yds. required).
Make and Apply HANGING SLEEVE from Customer’s Fabric: $15. This option is available only if I make and apply your binding.
Create CUSTOM LABEL: $15 and up
HAND APPLY LABEL to the quilt: $10
