John Thomson; married a MCMORRIS. John was the oldest
son, and attended West Point. He also had spent some time in "Bleeding
Kansas" before the war. By the end of the war he served as adjutant
at Galveston.

Elizabeth Lewis; married John MINOR.
Alfred Lewis; married a TAYLOR from Alabama, the sister
of General E. A. Perry's wife. Judging from the memoirs, he served in
Company G of the 9th Alabama infantry, and later served on General Perry's
staff. He saw action at Chancellorsville.

Mary Ann.
James McClure; married a DICKINSON or DICKENSON. He
enlisted in the Fredericksburg Artillery, later transferred to the
cavalry, and saw action at Sharpsburg and Brandy Station.

John Zachary Holladay; married a DASWELL. Since there
was already a John in the family, this one went by "Zachary". The Scott
memoirs refer to him as "Zack". He evidently served as a scout under
General Hampton.

(the brother of Mary Miller Anderson, who married Bradford Ripley Alden
Scott). Sarah is presumably the "Sallie" mentioned in the Scott memoirs.

Lewis M.; married a BOYLE. The memoirs refer to Lewis
as "my next older brother," and mention that he had enlisted but had
been discharged as too young for the service. Evidently he was only a
few years older than the author.

Bradford Ripley Alden; married Mary Miller ANDERSON (the sister of Charles Harper Anderson, who married Sarah Travers Lewis Scott). Known as "Alden", he is the author of the memoirs published here.

Frances Greenhow. The youngest sister, she was known as
"Green" or "Greenie".
