Guidelines for Contributors
To contribute to the COBOL Style Forum, send me your thoughts by email
to mck9@swbell.net, in the form of
a text file. I may also be able to use an HTML file, with image files
as attachments.
Also, I require your true email address (not an anti-spam version).
I may wish to correspond with you before incorporating your
contribution.
My Rights
At my sole discretion, I reserve the right to:
- Quote you verbatim, with an appropriate attribution, unless you
request otherwise.
- Edit your text for brevity, or to correct misspellings, faulty
grammar, and the like.
- Paraphrase or summarize your contribution, especially if more than
one contributor makes similar points.
- Publish your name, email address, and/or a link to one of your
pages, if known to me, unless you request otherwise.
- Provide a devastating rebuttal to everything you say.
- Ignore you completely. Hey, this is my ego trip, not yours.
Your Rights
As a contributor, you can expect the following:
- As noted above, I will honor a request to withhold information
about your identity, or to withhold all or part of your text, as
you may specify.
- I will not knowingly misrepresent your position, or if I do, I
will make a correction when asked.
- You may withdraw or modify your contribution at any time.
Depending on the volume of contributions and on other demands on my
time, there may be a reasonable delay in my response to any request.
Maybe even an unreasonable delay.
Disclaimers
Though I will not knowingly publish inaccurate information, I cannot
verify all the assertions of contributors, nor will I try to.
Notwithstanding any of the above, this document is intended only as
a declaration of intent. No part of this document is to be construed
as imposing any legally enforceable obligation or liability on
me, beyond those to which I would otherwise be subject.
Sorry, but I have to put verbiage like this in here.
