Vida Evelyn McKellar

Notes: She was known as "Budge" or "Budgie", after the popular kind of pet bird, because she was so talkative. She married late in life and had no children. In later years she lived in a rural area near Flat Rock, NC, just down the road from Carl Sandburg and his goat farm. She didn't care for Mr. Sandburg much -- thought he was stuck up -- but she liked his wife.
