***1/32 1959 Scarab - Lance Reventlow

The famous sports car driver Lance Reventlow placed 3rd at Danville, MD and 1st at Palm Springs with this car in 1959. The Scarabs were some of the most expensive "back yard specials" ever built in America.

Lance set out to be World Champion with an all American car and it would have been quite a triumph! These cars did win most of the important American sports car races during 1958 and two of the cars, sold by Reventlow, were still winning races in the early 60's.

The Scarab was designed from the ground up with specially shrouded inboard brakes at the front and rear, a tubular frame, and a 385 horsepower Chevrolet V8 engine.

The slot car was originally built and run in the MGPMRC Spring 1990 season for the 1/32 Vintage Atlas class and placed 3rd overall in points and also placed a third in the club's "Nassau Speed Weeks" race on March 4, 1990.

It features the Atlas AT-206 motor, Dubro hand painted & detailed vac body with number decals,

Gil Field scale driver and hand turned wheel inserts.
