STORY
A dramatic film about AZIZ, a young Arab who goes to the annual Brides Fair in Imilchil. When he marries ITTO, a young Berber girl, and invites her parents to return to Fez with him for a traditional wedding, he forces his parents to reevaluate their views of the Berber ethnic group.
CULTURAL BACKGROUND
Aziz is a shoemaker or "kharraz" in Moroccan Arabic.
He makes the traditional leather slip-ons or balgha. These types of
slip-ons are very popular with religious Moroccans because they are easy
to take-off and put on for the five daily prayers. These shoes have
been made the same way for a thousand years.
