About Our Savior Kindergarten

Welcome to Our Savior Lutheran Kindergarten
We set the stage for a lifetime of learning.

5 and 6 year olds love to learn and try new things.  We provide many experiences to help them explore their world.

The most important part of our day is when we listen to Bible stories, pray and sing praises to God.  The children will know that God loves them and they are special.

I have taught Kindergarten for 17 years and have learned so much.  Mrs. Stockglausner is our full time assistant, so there are always two of us with the children.

We have a half-day program.  Arrival is between 8:00 - 8:15 and dismissal at 11:30.  Children, who need day care, can go to our Extended Care Program while the rest of the children go home with their parents or babysitter.

Communication between school and home is very important to us.  Every Friday I send home a newsletter and the LINK, which is the school newsletter.  Each month you will receive a calendar to show birthdays, snack person, field trips, and special days.

We encourage parents to sign up to help in the classroom.  It benefits everyone.  You get a chance to see what we do and meet your child's friends and we appreciate the extra help.  It helps me if you sign up in advance so if we have a difficult project I can plan if for the day when we have extra help.

We have snack each morning.  The government milk program allows the children to have milk everyday for just $35 for the whole year.  The children take turns bringing snack for the whole class.  It will be marked on the calendar that I send home.  Refer to the sheet on snack suggestions.

We have Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, and Easter parties.  Each family signs up for one party and works with six other families.  You can come for the whole morning and if you can't come you can send something.  Parents are welcome to attend all the parties.  Besides the holidays, we celebrate other special days: Pet Show Day, Indian Pow Wow, Circus Day and Western Day.

The children will bring home a book everyday for someone to read to them.  The child returns the book the next morning for a new one. It is their "homework" and one of the best pre-reading activities you can do with your child.

If you are interested, please call the office and set up a day to come and visit.  We would love to show you around and answer your questions.

God's blessings,
Mrs. Miller
