SUMMER AND FALL,
WINTER AND SPRING,
WE SHARE EARTHLY LIFE
AS WORSHIPPING FAMILIES OF GOD
Your Fourth Grader’s exciting summer memories will be shared in the classroom well into the Fall as new recollections are recalled.

How rich they will feel(!) as they share some of what you have shared together in ordinary and special events.  That bond between parent and child is God’s idea.  Personal times together shape outlook and provide ideals.

And that tie will grow well as children see your interest in Jesus by the words you say, as well as by what a child sees you do.

God Almighty is the authority you can quote as you share together. His Holy Bible tells what thoughts, words and deeds agree with His will for you.

Further, God is our rescuer, our ever-present Friend, even our Creator Who shares the universe with human beings.

God forgives us and enables us to worship Him.  Frequent family prayer (meals, bedtime and in between) is the responsibility of fathers and mothers.  Children need to know your thoughts toward God.  And to know His thoughts toward us, daily reading of Scripture can be encouraged—together or in private.

Fourth Graders quite naturally learn responsibility in this current particular span of their studies, as they walk hand-in-hand with God, parents, other pupils and teacher.

The present time, now through Grade Eight, sets the stage for how well a brain can store.  These years affect capability for all of earthly life.  That is why parents help a child see the value of meeting a deadline, or not “forgetting” daily household tasks. Parents walk a thin line between urging responsibility and giving loving support.

A child needs to learn the down side of unwise thoughts And actions.  And it is better to learn at a young age when the consequences aren’t so tough. Parents might begin to increase the level of what’s expected, and stand out of the way, but at the same time showing that you want to go forward hand-in-hand with the child, the Lord and the teacher.

Children need to know what the family stands for. Children need to see their tasks at home and school as helping the family.  And family relationships need to increase even as a pupil begins to see “stuff out there.”

Fourth Graders need to hear parents relating beliefs and values during social settings.  They need to share smiles and relaxed quiet love.

Let us share reality by telling the Good News About Jesus.  In church, we sing the Apostles’ Creed, that simple summary of our belief.  It is our witness of faith.  What a wonderful opportunity to share our common faith with others each week.

Hand in hand, coaching with high but loving expectations, parents and teacher can build a structure in a child’s life that lasts and expands to the worldview as Christ sees it.
