The use of our ESC program is a privilege. This privilege may be suspended, temporarily or permanently, if a child's behavior
becomes a problem for the program leaders or the other children. Suspension or expulsion from ESC does not in itself excuse
absences or affect enrollment status in school.
The children are expected to follow the directions of the program leaders, and to give them the measure of respect appropriate
to adults properly placed in authority over them. Although ESC is not intended to be another classroom environment, the
discipline plan used by the ESC staff is an adaptation and extension of the school discipline plan. In some cases the school
principal or a classroom teacher may assist the ESC staff in dealing with behavior problems. Use of in-school disciplinary
consequences may be deemed appropriate by the principal or the ESC
director.

CONSEQUENCES |
|
|
In the event that a child has decided to disobey a
rule, a verbal warning will be given. During your child's ESC
stay, they could receive up to two (2) verbal warnings, then they
will be put into time-out. If these forms of discipline do not
seem to correct the problem, their name will be put on a
board. After one (1) check an ESC staff member will talk to
the parents and inform them that the next time the child ESC he/she
will have a 30 minute time-out, during which they will be given busy
work to do. |
