Statement of Non-discrimination
Our Savior Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and
activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color,
national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or any other administered program.
Enrollment and Registration
"Registration" is completed when the necessary forms have been completed and
received by the school office, and the registration fee has been
paid. The registration fee is non-refundable unless final enrollment is denied, or for other special circumstances.
Enrollment
"Enrollment" is the official admission of the student to school. If enrollment is denied, the registration fee will be refunded.
Enrollment is final when approvel by the principal has been granted and
payment of the book fee has been made. All
admissions are also subject to the approval of the Board of Christian Education.
Classroom
Roster
"Classroom Roster" is the list of students who will be
in a particular grade/class for the school year.
Previous Unpaid Charges
Non-payment or late payment of previously owed tuition, fees or other
school charges may be grounds for not accepting the registration of a
child or for not granting final enrollment. Families in a
financial situation should speak with the school office prior to the
registration period concerning payment arrangements, registration, and
enrollment.
Registration Dates and Priorities
Month of January: Priority levels for open registration
during the month of January are:
(1) Children currently enrolled in OSLS;
(2) Children of families with other child(ren) currently
enrolled in OSLS;
(3) Children of member families of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
On January 31st, the classroom rosters (up to classroom limitations) will
be finalized for all paid registrations based on the above priority
levels.
In the event that more completed registrations are received than space
available in a classroom, priority within each of the above priority
levels will be further prioritized as follows:
(1) Children of member families of Our Savior Lutheran Church;
(2) Children of families with other child(ren) currently
enrolled in OSLS;
(3) All others.
Each of these levels will be further prioritized based on the date of
receipt of the completed registration paperwork and fee.
February 1 Open registration for all based upon the date
of receipt of the completed registration paperwork and fees.
March 31 Book fee due for all registered students.
If the book fee is not paid on time, the student will be dropped from the
classroom roster and enrollment denied.
Any vacancies that emerge, will be filled from the remaining completed
registrations received during the month of January based on the priorities
set out above and then from the completed registrations received after
February 1 based on the date received.
Waiting List
To have a child's name placed on the waiting list, registration forms must be completed and received by the school office. The
registration fee does not need to be turned in until the parent is notified that a classroom opening is available.
The registration fee is to be paid within 14 days of notification of the
opening.
Entrance Requirements
Age Eligibility
OSLS follows the Missouri state guideline for the age of the child at enrollment:
Children who turn 3 before August 1st are eligible to register for preschool 3s/4s
Children who turn 4 before August 1st are eligible to register for preschool 4s/5s
Children who turn 5 before August 1st are eligible to register for kindergarten
Students who have successfully completed an approved kindergarten program may register for 1st grade.
Birth Certificates
A student entering preschool or kindergarten must have a copy of his/her birth certificate on file in our office before enrollment is
considered complete.
Transfer of Previous Records
A student entering grades 1-8 is only accepted for final enrollment after the principal has received and reviewed transcripts and
other records from the child's previous school(s). An interview with the principal is normally required for parents of new
students in grades 1-8.
Medical Records
All students, preschool through grade 8, must meet the state requirements for immunizations appropriate to their age by the first
day of school. State law requires every child attending school to be immunized properly, and health form information must be
updated for all enrolling or re-enrolling applicants each year. Students not in compliance with this state law by the first day of
school are to be excluded from attending.
Physical examinations are required for:
all students entering kindergarten
all students entering 4th grade
all students entering 7th grade
all students of any grade who wish to participate in the sports program during the school year
all students new to this school
Student and Parent Commitment
All students are accepted with the mutual understanding that they will apply themselves according to the ability God has given
them, that they and their families will cooperate with the Board of Christian Education policies and all the rules of the school,
and that the parents sincerely desire their children to receive a Christian education according to the teachings of the Lutheran
Church.
