Arrival and Departure
Early Childhood Levels Preschool 3s-4s Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 11:30 AM. The classrooms are opened for children 5 minutes before the classes begin.
Preschool 4s-5s Classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:45 - 11:30- AM or 12:30 - 3:15 PM. The classrooms are opened for children 5 minutes before the classes begin.
Kindergarten meets every day from 8:15 - 11:30 AM. Parents are responsible for the care of their children until 8:00 AM, when the doors are opened, and after 11:45 AM, by which time students should have been picked up.
Preschool and Kindergarten children are led to the parking lot sidewalk at dismissal. (Children enrolled in Extended School Care are led to the ESC room.) The children wait on the sidewalk with their teachers for parents to come and walk them to their cars.
Elementary and Upper Grades Beginning in 1st grade, we ask parents to say their goodbyes to their children before the children enter their classrooms. The classroom is the place for the child to do the work, including the work of taking care of themselves (under the teacher's guidance and supervision). The child has the responsibility of unpacking the book bag, saying hello to friends, and getting ready for the start of school at 8:15 AM. Having Mom or Dad there to do that work for them hinders their growth.
Classes are held from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM. The school accepts responsibility for these students only after 8:00 AM, when the Main Lobby doors are opened, until the children are released to their parent's care (or ESC program). It is the parent's responsibility to arrange for child care before 8:00 AM and after 3:15 PM.
Late Pickups Children not picked up within 15 minutes after the scheduled dismissal time for that day will be placed with the ESC program, unless specific arrangements have been made with the teacher. The parent will be charged any applicable ESC fees that apply.
Safety Notes Parking Lot Safety All cars should be parked in the parking spaces marked in the center of the parking lot. Do not pull up to the curb or circle to wait.. These are potentially dangerous practices!
Safety From Strangers If your child will be picked up by someone other than his/her normal driver, please send a note to the teacher. If it's a last minute emergency arrangement, telephone the school office so we have no doubt your child is being released to a safe situation.
