Our Commitment - Your Commitment

THE SCHOOL’S PART

Parents rightfully expect our school to...

...Give the child quality age-appropriate academic instruction. The proper instruction for preschoolers is not the same as for 3rd graders, or 8th graders. We are concerned about the best academic experience for all our age levels. We are here to provide an excellent education.

...Lovingly care for the child. Although a school cannot substitute for parental love and care, at OSLS the teachers and staff are genuinely concerned about the welfare of each child. Each child is personally known by the staff.

...Provide a safe and secure environment. Our students are not perfect. But at OSLS children are not in constant danger from the severe societal problems present in some schools. The faculty takes the time and effort to deal with the relatively minor problems that do occur. Children feel safe and comfortable here.

...Help guide the child in Christian values and spiritual living. Guidance and teaching occur as much at unplanned times as during planned instruction. What happens at recess, in the hallways, or during lunch is important to us.

THE PARENT’S PART

The Board of Christian Education and the faculty expect that parents who choose OSLS for their child’s schooling will...

...Recognize and agree with our ultimate purpose: to lead each child closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. A very important part of this commitment is regular worship and Sunday school attendance either at Our Savior or at your own church home.

...Agree to cooperate with all the policies of Our Savior Lutheran School. Policies and curriculum are approved by the Board of Christian Education of the congregation.

...Pay all tuition and fees as scheduled. If unexpected circumstances cause a problem with your financial commitment, please contact the school office.

...Work with the teachers for your child’s benefit, and take an active role in the life of the school for the benefit of all the children. Yes, teachers are the ones with training and experience. But a school blessed with appropriate parent involvement provides a better education for the children.
