Ashford UMC Scouting Ministry Page

Welcome to the Ashford UMC Scout page. As Scouting Coordinator for Ashford United Methodist Church, the purpose of this page is provide a site to post information about the Scouting Ministry at Ashford United Methodist Church. Ashford UMC has a long standing relationship with both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. To see how busy we are here, take a look at the Scout Building Calendar available via link at the bottom of this page

GIRL SCOUTS: The Buffalo Service Unit of the San Jacinto Girl Scouts meets in the Scout Building year round. Many Girl Scout troops use the Scout Building for meetings during the school year.

BOY SCOUTS: Ashford UMC is charter organization to Sam Houston Area Council's Troop 1037, Troop 993, Pack 1037 (started Fall 2004), Pack 73 and Pack 1038. Troop 993 meets year round every Monday night in the Scout Building. The Packs meet principally during the school year but their committees operate year round. Many of the dens in each Pack meet during the school year in the Scout Building.

SCOUT BUILDING CALENDAR: The link below allows folks to check availability and who will be using the building. It is not an interactive calendar.

If you want to make a reservation please contact me, preferably by e-mail, telling me the Scout group, troop, pack or den number and your preffered dates and times. When scheduling, don't hesitate to set the times such that you have time to setup and cleanup.

Reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

After you make your reservations, we can provide you with the two keys required to access any of the rooms and bathrooms.

Scouting Links

I am trying to gather additional links that may be of use to the Scout leaders. The UMC Scouting site has a collection of stories, tributes and devotionals that may be of interest to the leadership when trying to create a program. Please let me know if you have a site you think should be added here. I want us to share our knowledge to deiver the best program possible for our Scouts. Paul
