Basic Greenland/Traditional Workshop

Have you seen people kayaking with those skinny wooden paddles and performing unique rolls and wondered what the deal is?  This course will introduce you to Greenland style paddling and rolling.

These are some of the information and skills we will cover:

• Kayak history
• Greenland hunting tools and techniques
• Greenland kayak construction
• Narrow blade paddle theory
• Greenland touring paddle stroke
• Sliding paddle stroke
• Eskimo rescue techniques
• Sculling and bracing
• Rolling

Course Length: 8 hours
Cost:  $115
Prerequisites: Level II or similar paddling experience
Equipment: Properly outfitted and sized kayak, safety gear, and a Greenland paddle
