The Level I course is designed to provide beginners with a fun introductin to the sport of coastal sea kayaking. In this class you will learn
- Adjust the fit of your kayak for comfort and control
- Safely carry your kayak
- Sprayskirt - how and why to use
- Entering and exiting your boat from shore
- Proper use and control of your paddle
- Basic strokes and maneuvers
- Assisted and solo rescues
- Fundamental safety equipment
- Influence and importance of weather and tides
- On-water hazards and strategies for dealing with them
- Rules of the nautical road
