One of my favorite activities is using compressed air to accelerate a potato into the 750 ft per second range. My design uses 4" and 2" PVC with several modifications to the ones on the web. Here are some pictures of my oversized nail gun (that is what I based my design upon), But the design will have to be given sparingly due to liability reasons.
