Shihan Karl Geis introduced me to Aikido in the
1970's. At this time I was still competing in Judo and Karate/Taekwondo
tournaments. When you are younger, focus is on competition.
One day at practice sensei said that it was time to begin taking Aikido.
He stated that you may not be able to compete for the rest of your life
as a top player. Aikido is something that you will be able to appreciate
more in the future. "You will thank me for this later". You
must begin today. Needless to say, I obeyed promply. And of
course, he was right again. I have also had the privledge of studing
with Professor Tsuniko Miyake, Master Hiroaki Kogure and Master Takeshi
Inoue. I am a seventh degree black belt in Aikido and a sixth degree black
belt in Jyodo.
Since I began, I have started classes in various
locations:
Corpus Christi, Texas
Daniel Escamilla, Wayne Campbell, Mike Casanova
McAllen, Texas
Bob Davis, John Malcomb, Harold Elliott
Brownsville, Texas
Charles Harris, Ernest Larado
Tampalimpas, Mexico
