The Shubukan Dojo is the headquarters for the Zotai
Budo Kai/East-West Martial Arts Council. We are located in Corpus Christi,
Texas. I am Rianard Jackson the president and founder. We are an umbrella
organization dedicated to martial arts education. Opportunities for
cross training in various arts, occasionally not available within some
institutions are also available. Each discipline and organization
operates as an individual entity as well as a component of the association
for the promotion of the martial arts. Harmony, mutual respect for all
martial arts and students. Bridging the gap between Eastern and Western
philosophies is one of our key focal points.
Shubukan
Dojo
Due to the fact that we teach different disciplines,
it was necessary to provide separate training atmospheres on occasions.
The Shubukan Dojo name was given to us by Professor Ichinoi in 1965.
We have continued to used this name this present day. This
dojo is dedicated to teaching and learning Japanese and Okinawan arts.
Shubukan translates to "The School of the Little Warrior".
Taesong
Dojang Through my intensive training in Taekwondo and Moo
Duk Kwan, I named our Korean headquarters The Taesong Dojang /"The
School of Great Enlightenment". This was part of an independence
movement in Korea to abolish bans on education.
