Q: What rate springs do you use in the LeBaron.
A: I use a 250 lb. in the L.R. and a 225 lb. R.R. with stock torision bars up front.
Q: I saw you are running a Carter AFB on your Street Stocker. I've tried a Carter and a Edelbrock, but both of them have the
typical problem with severe stumbling off the corners. Mind sharing your secret with me?
A: There are a couple of things you can do to help the carb problem. The first is to understand what is happening. When you slow down for
the turn the IDLE circuit will keep on siphoning gas, you need to DRILL a .032 air bleed hole right above the main tube in the booster, take
the 2 screws out and remove the booster you will see the tube try to get the hole right in the middle. This will cause a break in the siphoning.
The next thing is to run your Idle as lean as you can, and set your Idle RPM at about 1500.
This one only helps a little( use a Power needle that is LEAN on the part throttle and a soft spring) this will keep it lean as you start down on
the throttle and help clean it out quicker. All this fixes the problem on all but the roughest tracks.
When that AFB gets to bouncing around it is going to flood a little.
Q: I am thinking of running a 79 aspen in hobby stocks next yaer. Everyone tells me they plow pretty bad in the corners because of the torsion bars. Have you had this problem? If so, do did you fix it?
A: Yes the right front is soft. We run a COP car sway bar and preload it about 2 inches to help the right front. Carrea also makes a Heavy Duty shock that helps. We run 51% cross weight with 3" stagger and a locked rear end.
