Roy Ables' Genealogy Research Site Welcome to my Genealogy Page.  I have posted this site in the hopes of contacting others who are searching for or have information regarding the ABEL, ABLE, and/or ABLES surname. I am most willing to share my ABLE(S) information and I am always looking for new material. The Ables families came to Texas in January 1836, from Tennessee through Mississippi and settled in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Later, the family moved all over east and central Texas. Some served in the military during the Texas Revolution and some served in the Civil War. Harrison, James and Joseph ABLES are sons of Ezekiel ABLES. He had other children as well.
