Meet Reggie...

Beautiful Boy

...our Basset Hound. We adopted him from Mid America Basset Rescue on May 26, 2001. He's mostly black and white with a little brown which qualifies him as "tri-colored." He's about a year and a half old, and he's a classic basset in temperament and personality. In other words, he does things when HE wants to do them, not necessarily when WE want him to do them. He's brought more joy to our lives than you can imagine.
Why a basset? Because they make us smile, coming and going!"

This is a day in the life of a basset hound...

Reggie wakes up - or tries to, anyway.

Hmmm... maybe a quick dip will do the trick.

Wait... where's my beautiful, yellow life jacket? I can't be expected to go swimming without my LIFE JACKET! What's wrong with these people, anyway?

M-O-M! Where's my LIFE JACKET???

Much better.

NOW I feel much safer in that big old pool.

They DO love me!

It seems the food slaves have forgotten something.

Breakfast
M-O-M! D-A-D! HELP!!!
I'm STARVING!!!

It's been a hard day.
Already I'm pooped.
Maybe I'll just take a short nap...

... until dinner time.

(uh-oh, busted. I'll act innocent)
Oh, Hullo. What??? You mean this isn't MY dinner?
So sorry about that ... I'll get down now.
(heh, heh, heh... I think they bought it. They're laughing.)

I guess if Dad won't let me have the chair all by myself, I'll have to share.
He calls this "Laptime with Daddy."
Ugh.

...I call it crowded.

Naptime.

Mom says I do things a little different from other houndies.

She said our HEADS are supposed to go on the pillow, not our bottoms. ... Imagine that.

Yawn...... I wonder how much longer it is until it's time for bed?

Aw Dad, just a couple more minutes, please?
I've GOT to check my email!
