The Speedster

Reproduction (i.e. kit) 1957 Porsche Speedster

Factory built in '91 on a '73 VW frame, with a highly modified 72 VW engine. Blight, shinny Porsche Guards red, engine pumped up to 120 HP (from 60), impressive exhaust tone (read VERY loud), VDO gauges, front disc brakes, side curtains, and not a whole lot else (very minimalistic).  Right now, there is just over 6000 miles on the car.

What fun!  If you want to turn heads, and talk to everyone at stoplights and parking lots, this car does it.  I have met some of the nicest Houstonians driving around in this.  Everyone wants to know about it - what it is, when was is built, did I build it, etc.  I didn't build it myself.  I bought it just like you see it here, except I've removed the bumpers and put Nerf bars in their place.  Many will say not building yourself takes all the fun out of owning one, but believe me, they are mistaken.
