Astron Shrike

Plan downloaded from JimZ site. Paint purchased from Hobby Lobby. All other supplies purchased from Hobbytown USA. Used plastic nose cone instead of balsa. Plans called for installing an engine hook in the upper stage engine mount. No way. I could hardly pull the two stages apart. I kept sanding the interior of the lower stage connector and trying again, but couldn't get it to separate without extreme difficulty. So, I clipped off the engine hook. Upper stage separates much easier now. Hope it works.

First flight - Brad's place. Winds about 5mph, gusting to 10mph. Launched with C6-0 and A8-3. Perfect flight and recovery. Wind carried it all the way to the back of Brad's property, about 150 yards. Landed about 20 yards beyond the pond. Whew, that was close. Stage separation worked perfectly.
