Astron Cobra
Cobra
Plan downloaded from JimZ site. Balsa nose cone purchased from BMS. Balsa transition adapter provided by Glenda, Estes Customer Service. Paint purchased from Hobby Lobby, except Bougainvillea (dark pink) is by Plasti-Kote from Wal-Mart. All other supplies purchased from Hobbytown USA. Blake is really anxious to see this one fly. Me too! Teresa's going to draw a picture of the Archangel Michael on it, and Gail's going to paint it. That should be awesome.

No flight, yet.

Update: Found a picture of the Archangel Michael and printed it onto Bel decal paper, then applied it and lightly rubbed out areas to blend it into the finish. Looks great. The picture doesn't really show the detail. It looks as if the picture was painted onto the rocket.

Also, built another, modified to fit a single Estes E-9 motor and using the later paint scheme (blue and white). This is the one I fly the most, mainly because it's easier to prep. Also, the cluster failed to ignite one of the three motors on one flight. It flew OK even with the two motors, but I keep remembering the flight of my Uprated Saturn I.

Flights have all been spectacular. I fly the standard Cobra using C6-5 or C6-7, depending upon wind conditions. The E-Cobra flies perfectly using the E9-6 motor, E9-8 on warm, calm days.
